The Pope, the Mass, and….Kenny G?
I typically don't have much to say about music (I leave that to the much more insightful Marc Barnes). And it's even more rare that I write about liturgical music.
But I just had to post about this.
Pope Benedict XVI just finished his long-awaited visit to his native Germany. It's always a big deal anytime a Pope visits his home country. For example, when Pope John Paul II returned to Poland he sparked the end of Communism.
Yet amid all the anticipation and excitement, I doubt Benedict expected this overture during Mass in Berlin:
