Send Letters to the Christians of Baghdad

The Christians in Iraq are some of the most persecuted in the world, and the recent massacre in a Catholic Church has only accentuated that reality. The folks over at the “Why I Am Catholic” blog are encouraging Christians to write letters to our brothers and sisters in Baghdad, and they’ve provided a way to do it.

By day’s end, the Nuncio at the United Nations was offering his diplomatic pouch (direct mail). He proposed to have all letters and messages sent to him by Tuesday night in a package and he will send the package to the Nunciature in Iraq on Wednesday morning.

Please address your emails to the families to His Beatitude Emmanuel Delli, Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Baghdad at tonuncio@gmail.com. He will print out the emails and put them in the pouch.

It takes 2-3 minutes to type up an encouraging e-mail, but I’m sure it will be worth far more than that to the Christians in Iraq. I’ve already sent my e-mail out–will you?
