Weekly Giveaway (9/9)

“Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others.” – St. Augustine

Because I’ve built up a large collection of duplicate books and resources, each week I’m giving away one or more of these items, absolutely free, no strings attached.

You can enter anytime during each week for that week’s giveaway, with a new giveaway beginning each Friday. To see a list of past giveaways, go here.

This week’s giveaway is a copy of Fr. Robert Barron’s brilliant, beautiful new book, Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith. I can’t remember writing a more enthusiastic review of a book. It’s really one that should be on everyone’s shelf:

To be blunt, this is simply the best book on Catholicism I’ve ever read. And I’ve read a lot of them. Without hyperbole, I can say that this will now be the first book I’ll recommend to anyone exploring the Catholic faith.

Barron is a systematic theologian at heart and his Catholicism book reflects this. It presents a complete tapestry of God and his Church. The book touches upon every facet of Catholicism–Jesus, the apostles, Mary, the Church, the saints, prayer, the sacraments, and more.”

The rules for the giveaway have changed just a little bit. To win, you have to answer this question in the comment box:

Whether you’re Catholic or not, what do you find most beautiful about the Catholic faith?

The winning comment will be randomly selected on Friday morning using a random number generator, and the giveaway item(s) will be sent out, free-of-charge, shortly thereafter.

In the future I’ll be giving away many more books and resources–sometimes multiple items per giveaway. So check back next Friday!

Update: The drawing is closed for the week of Friday, September 9. Congratulations to Ashley F. for winning this week! Check your e-mail for instructions on receiving the book. If you don’t see an e-mail from me, check your spam box–apparently e-mails with “giveaway” in the subject line often end up there.
