Catholicism: A Journey to the Heart of the Faith
by Fr. Robert Barron

By now you've probably heard of the epic Catholicism project, created and hosted by Fr. Robert Barron. The ambitious work includes a stunning 10-part film series, which has aired on PBS and EWTN, an engaging study program adopted by hundreds of parishes across the country, and an accompanying book which has been acclaimed far and wide (one obscure blogger even named it his Favorite Book of 2011).

George Weigel calls the Catholicism project, "the most important media project in the history of the Catholic Church in America". And I agree. In my review of the book I said:

"(It's) the greatest catechetical tool of our generation....In a culture hungry for truth, Catholicism offers answers. To people searching for goodness, it shows the path toward sainthood. In a world desperate for beauty, this book ravishes."

Today I'm *thrilled* to announce the largest giveaway in Thin Veil history, all centered around the Catholicism project. We're giving away six items worth more than $350 including:

What excites me most about the Catholicism project?

I'm a cable cutter, so from the bit I've been able to catch on PBS, I can see this series is clearly first-rate in its production values. It's not cheesy, it's not full of kitsch. It's straight-up explanation of the Faith using the sights and sounds intrinsic to the Faith. I can't wait to see more.

It excites me to see how beautiful our faith is, how universal. Watching the episodes really makes you want to be part of that beauty that is our catholic faith. It makes you want to a be a saint.

What excites me most about the Catholicism project?

All the fabulous places Fr. Robert traveled too, and the unique insights he provides for appreciating both the context and scenery in any given place.

Fr. Barron has brought together so much of what I had to discover on my own, during my journey to the Church (Tiber swim team 1980!). Even then, I have met many Catholics unaware of the treasures they held. So what am I excited about? Evangelization! Of our own, as well as others. We need this, to learn how to save the world through beauty...

I have been excited about seeing this since I first heard about it, and very excited that it's airing on PBS! I'm looking forward to watching this with my husband and kids, especially so my kids can get a true sense of the universality of the Church.

I get most excited about the solid teaching & evangelism that is done through the videos! It's beneficial for catholics & protestants alike!

The Catholicism project excites me most in how it reveals the beauty and theology of Catholicism. I love how fr Barron travels the world to show the beauty of Catholicism through the art and traditions of its followers across the globe and how it all points to Gods message to his people.

I'm not Catholic but I am investigating the claims of RC. I bought Fr Barron's book and am reading it. Would love to view the DVD series though.

Its exciting because I want to see on the big screen all the beautiful historical places in the world that I have read and heard so much about and to see how far and wide the catholic faith has spread throughout the world today.
