Weekly Giveaway (10/26)

"Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others." - St. Augustine

Because I've built up a large collection of extra books and resources, every week I give away some absolutely free, no strings attached.

Each giveaway lasts seven days with a new one beginning each Friday, and you can enter any time during the week. Check out the past giveaways items here.

Today's giveaway features a true classic. Frank Sheed's Theology for Beginners, despite what the title may suggest, is not a watered-down book on theology. It's a crisp, clear, brilliant overview of the most important theological topics. From the publisher:

In Theology For Beginners the late Frank Sheed conveys all his own excitement about theology, and shows us how to pass that excitement on to others. His book is now established throughout the English-speaking world as one of the outstanding modern introductions to theology for the layman.

I'm using Rafflecopter to help with the giveaway, which is cool because it allows you to gain multiple entries by commenting, posting on Facebook, sharing on Twitter, etc. Click below to enter:

UPDATE:

The drawing is now closed. Congratulations to Minlal for winning this week! Check your e-mail for instructions on receiving the book. If you don’t see an e-mail from me, check your spam box—apparently e-mails with “giveaway” in the title are prone to end up there.

In the future I'll be giving away more books and resources, sometimes multiple items per giveaway! So subscribe via feed reader or email to ensure you never miss your chance to win.

I feel like I've reached a new threshold in my personal faith-formation and have been seeking for different ways to better comprehend and teach the beauty of Catholicism. So when I read the publisher's commentary about this book that Sneed "conveys all his own excitement about theology, and shows us how to pass that excitement on to others", I thought this would be the perfect book for me personally as well as a catechist.
