As I previously anticipated, Pope Benedict XVI has just released a major document on Scripture, Verbum Domini (The Word of the Lord). This letter comes on the heels of the recent Synod on the Bible. Eric Sammons has some good background on this letter and its place in the Church’s past pronouncements on Scripture. You can download a PDF of the entire letter here:

(I only wish the people at the Vatican would have released the letter in some other form–a 208 page, 9″x5″ PDF makes for awkward reading.)
