Two Film Screenings

For those of you in the Orlando area, I am hosting two events at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church (Altamonte Springs, FL) within the next couple of months that may be of interest:

CELEBRATING FULTON SHEEN – We’re hosting a special celebration of Archbishop Fulton Sheen at St. Mary Magdalen on Monday, September 13. Archbishop Sheen, arguably the most influential Catholic in American history, is in the process of canonization, so the event is meant to drum up interest and devotion for his cause. The celebration will be composed of two identical events, one at 3:00pm and one at 7:00pm, each beginning with a short talk by Monsignor Ed Thompson, a long-time devotee and acquaintance of Archbishop Sheen. Following the talk, each event will then feature an advanced screening of “Servant of All”, an hour-long documentary about the Archbishop set to be released in late 2010.

Be one of the first people to see this moving film, and join us in celebrating this future Saint!

Though the event is free and no reservation is required, please RSVP at www.CatholicScreenings.com so we know how many people we will be hosting. The trailer for the film can be seen below:

‘CATHOLICISM’ ADVANCED SCREENING
– You’re invited to an advanced screening of the first episode of “CATHOLICISM” at St. Mary Magdalen on Friday, October 1 at 7:00pm. “CATHOLICISM”, an epic 10-part documentary series, reveals the entire Catholic story in all its intelligence, beauty, and explosiveness. Produced by Fr. Robert Barron and his Word on Fire Ministry, the series has filmed in over 50 location in 15 countries, from the lands of the Bible to the great shrines of Europe, from America to Asia, Africa, and everywhere in between.
