“Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others.” – St. Augustine
Because I’ve built up a large collection of duplicate books and resources, each week I’m giving away one or more of these items, absolutely free, no strings attached. You can enter anytime during each week for that week’s giveaway, with a new giveaway beginning each Friday. To see a list of past giveaways, go here.
This week’s giveaway is something a little more lighthearted: a copy of a hilarious new book by A.J. Jacobs, The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible.
The book is an account of Jacobs’ quest to live the ultimate Biblical life. Jacobs–a secular Jew–uses the presents a tongue-in-critique of the Fundamentalist view of Scripture, just as the Catholic Church has done (though Jacobs probably does it with a little more humor). He starts off his year-long experiment as an agnostic searcher, but ends it as one who appreciates the sacredness of divine revelation.
You can read more about the book on his website.
To enter to win, fill out your name and e-mail address in the form below. None of your information will ever be given out, and I will only use it to contact the winner. The winner will be selected on Saturday using a random generator, and the giveaway item(s) will be sent out, free-of-charge, shortly thereafter.
In the future, I will be giving away books, CD’s, and DVD’s, sometimes more than one item per giveaway. Check back next Friday!
(One entry per person, please. The deadline for each entry will be 11:59pm each Friday. Since I’m covering the shipping costs, only residents within the continental United States will be eligible to win.)
Update: The drawing is closed for the week of Friday, 01/28. Congratulations to Rick R. for winning this week–check your e-mail for instructions on receiving the book. And check the blog for the next giveaway!
