Weekly Giveaway (03/18)

“Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others.” – St. Augustine

Because I’ve built up a large collection of duplicate books and resources, each week I’m giving away one or more of these items, absolutely free, no strings attached. You can enter anytime during each week for that week’s giveaway, with a new giveaway beginning each Friday. To see a list of past giveaways, go here.

This week’s giveaway is a copy of By What Authority?: An Evangelical Discovers Catholic Tradition written by the inestimable Mark Shea. I mentioned Mark and his book on Scripture the other day, and this one is just as good. From Tim Drake’s review at Amazon:

Mark Shea’s clever and at times witty examination of the authority of Catholic tradition is a book I turn to again and again in my conversations with others and in my writing.

His research and well-reasoned arguments make a solid case against the Evangelical argument of Scripture alone, and a solid case for Sacred Tradition as expressed by the Catholic Church.

This book is short and easy to read. It is meant for the lay person, not the theologian.

To enter to win, fill out your name and e-mail address in the form below. None of your information will ever be given out, and I will only use it to contact the winner. The winner will be selected on Friday morning using a random generator, and the giveaway item(s) will be sent out, free-of-charge, shortly thereafter.

In the future, I will be giving away books, CD’s, and DVD’s, sometimes more than one item per giveaway. Check back next Friday!

(One entry per person, please. The deadline for each entry will be 11:59pm each Friday. Since I’m covering the shipping costs, only residents within the continental United States will be eligible to win.)

Update: The drawing is closed for the week of Friday, 03/18. Congratulations to M.M. for winning this week–check your e-mail for instructions on receiving the book. And check the blog for the next giveaway!
