Fr. Barron on the “Seven Great Qualities of a New Evangelist”

In his latest YouTube commentary, Fr. Robert Barron recounts his Rector’s message to the seminarians at Mundelein. He spoke on the “Seven Great Qualities of a New Evangelist” and, weaving together insights from St. Paul, Bl. John Paul II, and Venerable Fulton Sheen, he showed why it’s such a “great time to be a seminarian.”
(In case you missed it, here’s my own talk from last night titled “The New Evangelist: How to Share Your Faith With Clarity, Calm, and Joy”.)

Which of the seven qualities do you think are most key?

I would like to see an update of these indicators. This is the so-called spring time of evangelisation. Let us all weep!!

UVA interviews Ken Jones author of Index of Leading Catholic Indicators This Kenneth C. Jones wrote a very informative article that I just read in The Latin Mass Magazine (Fall 2003 Vol. 12, no. 4). Sounds like his book is a powerful indictment of the destruction of Vatican II. He uses objective and cold hard facts. No subjective “feelings” about the situation. Bernie From the article: There were 49,000 seminarians in 1965. By 2002 the number had plunged to 4,700 – a 90 percent decrease. It is not being an alarmist to say that within our lifetime, there will be virtually no nuns in the United States – a stunning turn of events since 1965.At the grade school level, there were 10,503 parochial schools in 1965 and 6,623 in 2002. The number of students went from 4.5 million to 1.9 million.

Sounds like universal salvation, ecumenism and indifferentism all condemned by the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
