See what happens when you read "The Church and New Media"?

Sometime during the last few weeks, Pope Benedict XVI discovered that Archbishop Charles Chaput, one of my favorite Church leaders, had read an advanced copy of The Church and New Media. Vatican intelligence also informed the Pope that Chaput had this to say after finishing the book:

The Church and New Media is the best kind of reading: timely, vivid and rich in valuable information. For anyone seeking to understand and use today’s new technologies in advancing the Catholic faith, this book is an unsurpassed resource.”

Upon learning of the bishop’s reading habits, Benedict swiftly promoted Chaput to become the new Archbishop of Philadelphia, a move that has both shocked and excited the Catholic world.

From these events, we can safely deduce a universal principle:

If you read The Church and New Media, you too will be promoted. Probably.
